How long have you worked at FR Scott?

Started at FR Scott in Sept 2005 so coming up to my 19^th year.

What do you enjoy about working at FR Scott?

Working for a family run business who genuinely look after their staff.

What does your day to day involve?

Organising the running of the warehouse. Making sure that FR Scott and Fix and Fast orders are picked, packed & dispatched on time. I’m on hand to help the team with any WMS problems they have. Ensuring that company delivery vehicles are maintained and fit for purpose. I make sure the warehouse is well maintained, and all legal H&S requirements are complied with.
I’ll also help out in the various warehouse departments such as goods in, dispatch and our trade counter when needed. I lead stock taking, organising my team  rota’s and open and close most days.
More recently I have become the face of Fix and Fast on socials. #AskAidy is a key part of our TikTok content where I will answer questions about fixings or tools. One post about set screws got over 50,000 views. It is out of my comfort zone somewhat but is good fun and my grandchildren love watching me on there! What is the most challenging aspect of your role?

Managing staff workloads in a dynamic environment

What was your first job?

My first job was bench testing and repairing electronic/electrical equipment for the caravan industry.

Where are you from?

East Hull!. I was born in East Hull and lived there most of my life. During my time With Royal Fleet Auxiliary I worked all over the world. I currently live in an East Hull Village.

Do you have any Children or Pets?

4 stepchildren with 9 grandchildren, and a sprocker called Buddy

What do you do to relax?

I’m an East Stand season pass holder at Hull Kingston Rovers which can be nerve wracking as a supporter. I’m also a member of English Heritage and love visiting the many sites that the UK has to offer.

What are your plans for the FR Scott warehouse in 2024?

As we have new stock lines being added all the time. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the warehouse to maximise storage and increase efficiencies where possible.
FR Scott is growing and taking on new team members. With that in mind I’m improving their onboarding, helping them learn, grow and progress in their careers.
I also plan to coach and develop some of the current team to take on some of my task. This will enable me to spend more time on the important aspects of my role.
I am also always on the lookout for ideas to support the #askaidy TikTok content for Fix and Fast.
