FR Scott is unlocking engineering excellence in Hull by supporting and investing in young engineering students at Wilberforce Sixth Form College.

FR Scott are pleased to announce we have sponsored the Metalwork Engineering Room within the new engineering hub at Wilberforce College.

FR Scott supports Engineering at Wilberforce College

 

Our commitment to nurturing engineering talent and fostering industry-academic partnerships is evident by our sponsorship of the new FR Scott Metalwork Engineering Room.

The FR Scott Metalwork Engineering Room is one of the refurbished rooms within Wilberforce College’s new Engineering Hub and allow students to get used to using hand tools and fixings.

This new two million pound facility at Wilberforce College, on Salthouse Road, was opened in November by the Deputy Lord Mayor.  The special event was attended by students, staff, alumni, along with selected industry partners including the leadership team at FR Scott.

The newly completed Engineering Hub, a testament to Wilberforce College’s commitment to excellence, stands as a beacon of opportunity for aspiring engineers. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and industry leading equipment, the hub provides students with an immersive learning environment tailored to meet the demands of modern engineering practices.

Principal Colin Peaks aptly encapsulates the significance of this investment, stating, “These new facilities will ensure that our students have access to equipment that mirrors the standards achieved in industry every single day.”

It’s a sentiment echoed by FR Scott’s Head of Sales and Marketing, Tony Rands, who emphasises the importance of the relationship between industry and academia in shaping the future of engineering.

“Our partnership with Wilberforce makes sense. Many of our current engineering customers have undertaken their engineering qualifications at Wilberforce. For the last year we have sponsored the Engineering Student of the Month award recognising individual hard work and talent. It was a natural progression to have one of the new rooms in the amazing facility named after FR Scott”
