FR Scott Win at HullBid Awards 2025

 

We are proud to have won the Longevity Award at the Hull Bid Awards 2025.

FR Scott were shortlisted for the award that is open to businesses that are over 10 years old. Businesses that have adapted, survived and thrived to stay ahead of the competition. Something FR Scott has done since 1945.

The final result was decided by an independant panel who looked at many factors including :-

Financial stability over an extended period.

Delivering innovative products and services that maintain a loyal customer base.

Retaining the best talent over a number of years.

 

 

FR Scott at the HullBid Awards 2025

A cross section of colleagues, from every department in the business, were invited to the HullBid awards following us being shortlisted.

A great evening was had at the Double Tree by Hilton Hull. The black tie event, that was a who’s who from the local business community, started with a speech from Kathryn Shillito, HullBID executive director.

Kathryn told guests at the annual awards night that the combination of adaptability and unity will enable their businesses to emerge stronger and maximise the opportunities to come during a year of positive change.

The evening made even better when our name was announced as the winner of the Longevity Award and our team made their way up on to the stage to accept the award.

 

FR Scott Managing Director Jon Scott said

“It was very proud moment for F R Scott to win the Longevity Award at the HullBID Awards ceremony, particularly fitting given 2025 sees us celebrating 80 years in business.

We’ve survived and thrived for so long because we have an incredible team, both past and present and it was great to celebrate with some of them on the night of the awards.”

 

The judging panel said about FR Scott :-

“Hidden away at the back of St Stephen’s, F R Scott has stood proud while so much around it has changed.

Through four generations of the same family, the company has become recognised as the region’s largest independent supplier of fixings, fasteners and ironmongery.

It has also resisted any urge to sell up or relocate and after 80 years it remains a key part of the city centre, still offering good, old fashioned, quality and service, whilst adopting modern technologies to keep at the forefront of industry advancements”

 

 

What are the HullBid Awards?

The HullBID Awards are now into their 11th year.

They recognise and reward local businesses for their resilience, innovation, and creativity in making Hull city centre a vibrant place to live, work, and visit. With each passing year, the event continues to grow bigger and better.

This year was a record breaking year for the HullBid Awards with over 420 nominations. Showcasing the amazing talent, hard work and dedication across the Hull business community.
