80 Years of FR Scott

We’ve just hit a very special milestone for us at FR Scott – we’ve turned 80!

Founded back in 1945 by Fred Scott. We were officially incorporated as a business on 13th October 1945.

Our story began right here in Hull City Centre, just after the second world war. In a city rebuilding itself after the Blitz.

From those early days supplying fixings and fasteners, we’ve grown! We are Hull’s largest independent supplier of fixings, fasteners and ironmongery. Proudly run by the fourth generation of the Scott family.

Eight decades later, we’re still based in the City Centre. On Canning Street, where our 30,000 sq ft warehouse, trade counter and sales office welcome everyone from some of the biggest businesses in East Yorkshire to local DIYers.

Thanks to advances in technology and logistics we now supply thousands of business across the UK every month. Saving them time, effort and money.

Whether it’s a single screw, or supplies for a major project our team are always ready with practical, knowledgeable advice. The kind of service that’s become our trademark.

We’ve come a long way since 1945, but some things haven’t changed: our commitment to reliability, quality and our community.

From our mechanical and electrical department to our new Fix and Fast website and 24/7 ordering app, we’re continuing to invest in technology while keeping our family values at the heart of what we do.

We’re incredibly proud to have been part of Hull’s story for 80 years – and we’re looking forward to many more.
