There is something special about supporting a project that sees an iconic Grade II listed building – The Earl De Grey public house – moved and rebuilt. With the Castle Buildings behind joined together to create high quality business premises in a unique environment.
The Earl De Grey public house, which closed in 2010 was moved brick by brick in 2020 to accommodate the A63 development. The Castle Buildings were last occupied in 1970, creating a challenge to ensure all ironmongery met with current safety legislations.
Our team of architectural ironmongers worked closely with two sub contractors to ensure that the ironmongery supplied to the £2m project complimented the character of the buildings whilst meeting modern standards.
The outcome is 6,000 sq. ft of prime, commercial space in the heart of Hull City Centre.
